Emotion-Informed Tutoring
Learning from mistakes, not just correcting them. We explore the emotions and patterns that affect how children learn, turning setbacks into valuable information.
Learning from mistakes, not just correcting them
Traditional tutoring often focuses on the next assignment, test, or academic milestone. My approach looks more closely at what happens when a child gets stuck.
Instead of treating mistakes simply as something to fix, we explore what contributed to the mistake—frustration, anxiety, avoidance, perfectionism, impulsivity, confusion, or difficulty asking for help. By helping children recognize the emotions and patterns that affect how they learn, mistakes can become useful information rather than evidence that they are failing.
